Hi everyone!
My name is Samantha. I am a student at Ivy Tech majoring in
Environmental Design. As a child I would watch decorating shows with my mom and
would decorate my room. It was always a hobby of mine so when it came time to
pick a major for college I was looking through what Ivy Tech offered and saw
the Environmental Design program and it clicked with me. I’ve always wanted to
have a career that I love to do; so what better than design that I've loved for
years?
What also helped me to decide to do interior design was
designer Monica Mangin. I started seeing her on her first show "Knock it
off" where she and her best friend Jess would give high-end looks for
less. They did so many fantastic do it yourself projects. I've tried one of
them in my own room making a fabric padded headboard and loved it. She really
showed me that you can have great style and do it on a budget; which is exactly
what I want to end up doing. She really inspires me to look at things
